Bed Build Sign Up - Wednesday, April 24, 2024

This winter, Creston FBLA, CAST, and Wrestling teams (Creston & HWY 34) organized events, like Take Down the Night, to raise money for Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP), which provided beds to kids 3-17 years old in the community that do not have one of their own. This organization has made and distributed 250 beds so far to those in Union and Ringgold counties and the need continues to grow. The money we raised was enough to build 50 beds and on Wednesday, April 24th (an A day) we will be hosting a bed build during school where we build 20 beds for those in need. 

WE NEED YOUR HELP. We need students to sign up and help us build these beds. Each shift is during a block of school and we are looking for 30 students to sign up for each shift! This is a great way to earn community service hours and give back to kids in your community. If you are wanting to participate, you MUST fill out the permission form. If you are under 18 years old, the Sleep in Heavenly Peace form must be filled out by a parent. 

The following Google Form needs to be filled out ASAP with your preferred work time. The required permission form is also in this Google form. In terms of dress, you will want to wear work clothes that you don't care if it gets dirty - pants and long sleeves encouraged- with closed-toed shoes as you will be working in a construction area. If you have work gloves, you should bring them. We will have our construction area behind the football bleachers. Those signed up, will sign in at the beginning of their shift and we will make sure your permission form is filled out before you can start working. A SHP member will be helping at each station. Most of the jobs will involve electric sanders, drills, assembly, etc. (no saws will be used by students).
