2024 ISPRA Communicator of the Year

Congratulations to Superintendent Deron Stender, who has been selected as the 2024 Iowa School Public Relations Association Communicator of the Year.
This prestigious honor recognizes their exceptional work in school public relations, and is a testament to the positive impact they have made in the field.
The ISPRA panel of judges-retired school communication professionals from Washington, Oregon, and Nevada, all active in NSPRA, their local chapters, and APR certified, were impressed by Deron’s accomplishments and dedication to communications in his role as Superintendent.

The communicator of the year award is a biannual award and the award winner is eligible for the NSPRA National School Communicator of the Year award and will receive one paid registration to the NSPRA seminar in Washington, D.C. July 20-23, 2025.

The nominee was evaluated on the following four areas:
Leadership, Communication, Professionalism and Community Involvement.
